Test Credit
Test Credit
听
The 91原创 awards test credit for select secondary and post-secondary examinations and education programs.
General Information
The 91原创 recognizes the secondary and post-secondary exam programs listed below. Academic departments review the curriculum for each specific test to confirm eligibility for credit, qualifying scores, and 91原创 equivalencies. If an exam is approved for test credit, students may receive a standard 91原创 course, elective credit, or both. Credits awarded and scores required are at the discretion of the department.
For exams taken听before听a student matriculates to 91原创, students receive credit per the chart for the academic year in which they enter 91原创. For exams taken听after听a student has matriculated, students receive credit per the chart for the academic year in which they take the test. Charts are posted in the links below.
To request consideration for credit, students must submit the program's official certifying document (e.g., original certificate, score report, transcript). Refer below to each program for detailed information.
For tests taken more than 7 years ago: Depending on changes to the test curriculum, 91原创 may award 166T elective credit instead of what appears on the charts below. In this case, the student may send a copy of the official exam curriculum听from the year of their exam听to a 91原创 department for review. Equivalencies would be approved on a case-by-case basis.
Policy on Test and College Dual Credit:
A course may be awarded credit only once. In cases where a student received Dual Enrollment college credit and also took a test listed below, only one credential will earn credit. The Registrar鈥檚 Office reviews these cases after the start of each major semester and will notify a student if their posted credit has been changed.
General information about our test and transfer policies is found听听in the Undergraduate Programs section of the 91原创 Academic Catalog.
Information by Specific Program
The national and international credentials recognized for credit are listed below. Click on the program name to access information on qualifying grades, required documentation and other details.
Scores & Credit:听Starting with students admitted to 91原创 for Fall 2024, a score of 3 or higher will earn 91原创 academic credit. Students admitted before 2024-25 may need a higher score to earn 91原创 credit. See the chart for your admit term to confirm the scores needed and credits received.
Official Documentation:听Official score reports must be sent from College Board to 91原创. To order AP score reports, contact College Board at 866-444-5460 or via the website听. The 91原创's 4-digit college code is听5811.
Timing:听College Board will send the official scores for May exams in mid-to-late-July. Scores will post approximately 4-8 weeks after sent. Due to high volume, we are unable to confirm when individual scores have arrived at 91原创. We strongly encourage newly accepted Fall Semester freshmen to bring a screenshot (unofficial) copy of their AP scores to New Student Orientation. Review your scores with your advisor, and use the chart below to determine whether your AP courses will earn credit at 91原创.

Policy on AP Exam & College Dual Credit:听Students that undertake a course experience via high school/college programs cannot receive both transfer and test credit for the same coursework. In those cases, 91原创 recognizes the college transfer work and does not award the AP credit.
Grades & Credit: Credit is awarded for grades A through E. If both A-Subsidiary (AS) and A-Level (A2) exams are passed in the same subject, credit is given only for the A2 exam.

For Cambridge exams, log into your Cambridge portal and request that your exam results be shared electronically with the 91原创. Cambridge may/may not notify our office when this happens. To make sure we are aware, email registrar-international@udel.edu to request that our office download and review your results. If electronic scores are not available, contact registrar-international@udel.edu to schedule an appointment to bring your official certificate to the Registrar鈥檚 Office for authentication. Upon verification, a copy of the original will be made for the university's files, with the original returned to you.
For Pearson Edexcel, contact them to confirm how they will issue your official score documents. In past years, they have only provided a single paper copy sent directly to the student. If this is still true, contact registrar-international@udel.edu to schedule an appointment to bring your official certificate to the Registrar鈥檚 Office for authentication. Upon verification, a copy of the original will be made for the university's files, with the original returned to you. If Edexcel now issues scores electronically, email registrar-international@udel.edu to confirm next steps.听
For all students, when contacting our office: in the subject line, include your full name, 91原创ID, the term you鈥檙e starting your degree, the words 鈥淎-Level and A-Sub鈥, and the exam company (Cambridge or Edexcel).听
91原创 Equivalencies (what you will earn for each exam):
Each exam curriculum (what is taught by Cambridge or Edexcel) can change from year to year, or by company. For this reason, there is no chart outlining what students earn. Each student sends their individual curricula to academic departments for review.听
Initially, you鈥檒l earn a 166T Transfer Elective for each subject. But if an exam covers the same content at the same breadth/depth of a specific 91原创 course, you may be able to earn that course. It depends on the academic department鈥檚 assessment. They make the decision because they know their courses. Our office helps to facilitate the review process.听
This process can take time, but is beneficial, as you will earn credits toward your degree. A-Subsidiary exams usually earn between 3-4 cr., and A-Levels between 6-8 cr..听
Steps to have your exam curricula reviewed:
For each exam (Mathematics, English, etc.), contact your exam provider to request a web link or PDF of the official curriculum materials taught for the year you took each test.听
Work with the Registrar鈥檚 Office to send these materials to individual academic departments for review. We will assist you with this process. Cambridge/Edexcel materials are often more lengthy and complex than a standard college-level syllabus. We鈥檒l provide some context for the departments that will help with their review. Please email registrar-international@udel.edu with your 91原创ID and syllabi to begin the process of departmental review.
We will either work with you via email or by scheduling a 30-minute appointment via Zoom. We encourage you to start this process after you鈥檝e been accepted to 91原创, but before the start of your first semester. It can take time for departments to review materials.
Grades & Credit:听Credit is awarded for grades of 1, 2 and 3, with all grades earning the same credit. Each unit is normally equivalent to the credit of one 91原创 course.
Official Documentation:听Students must present the official CAPE certificate(s) to the Registrar's transfer credit office, by appointment. Upon verification, a copy will be made for the university's files and the original certificate(s) returned to the student.
Policy on CAPE & College Dual Credit:听Credit is awarded solely on the basis of the CAPE examination certificates.
91原创 Equivalency:听Courses are reviewed individually, as content can change frequently. Be prepared to share your course syllabi with the Registrar鈥檚 Office when you meet to review your official CAPE certificate.
Grades & Credit:听No credit is awarded for a score lower than 50, but individual subjects often require a higher minimum score to earn 91原创 credit. See the 91原创 CLEP Equivalency Chart below for tests currently approved, minimum scores required for credit, and courses received (for the year noted). If you took a CLEP exam before 2020, or are a current student planning to take CLEP while already earning your 91原创 degree, this will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please email your name, 91原创ID, CLEP exam (or course details) and an explanation of your request to听transfercredit@udel.edu.
Official Documentation:听Official score reports must be sent from College Board to 91原创. To order CLEP score reports, contact CLEP/College Board at 800-257-9558 or via the website听听The 91原创's 4-digit college code is听8167.

Grades & Credit:听Credit is awarded for subjects applicable to 91原创's curriculum. Not all subjects may be accepted. Grades and credits will be converted to U.S. scales.
Official Documentation:听Send an听official transcript听of the CPGE courses to IERF, 91原创鈥檚 partner for international credential evaluations. Visit this听听for instructions (how to request a听Standard Application with Detail Report, and where to mail your documents). Also view听听for more information. Ask IERF to send your credential evaluation directly to the 91原创.
91原创 Equivalency:听Preliminary evaluation of coursework is as elective transfer credit (166T courses). We encourage you to follow the steps outlined in听How to Transfer Credits to 91原创, sending officially translated English-language syllabi to 91原创 departments to review.
Grades & Credit:听Credit is awarded for Higher Level exams only. No credit is given for a grade lower than 4, but individual subjects may require a higher minimum grade. A maximum of 1 year (normally 2 introductory courses) of credit may be given in a subject.
Official Documentation:听Official IB transcripts are sent directly to the University in late-July or early-August, and credits will post in the following weeks.
