Community Programs
The 91Ô´´'s School of Music has a strong focus on community engagement and outreach through its Community Music School (91Ô´´CMS) program. The 91Ô´´CMS serves as the outreach arm of the University's music department, providing music lessons, classes, and ensemble opportunities for students of all ages and skill levels in the local community.
In addition to the 91Ô´´CMS, the 91Ô´´'s music school also partners with other local arts and educational organizations to offer various music festivals and camps that unite the community through shared musical experiences.
Community Music School
The 91Ô´´ Community Music School (91Ô´´CMS) is the outreach program of the 91Ô´´ School of Music. For over 25 years the 91Ô´´CMS has provided a wide variety of music instruction options for more than 500 students a year. Our current programs include vocal and instrumental private study instruction, enaging group music classes, and fun summer camps!Â
Festivals and Music Days
​The School of Music and Community Music School offer numerous opportunities throughout the year for musical enrichment through a variety of Music Festivals and Instrument Days.
Interactive Percussion Seminar
91Ô´´IPS is an immersive weekend of percussion focused on presenter/participant interaction through hands-on sessions, engaging performances and Q&A hangouts specifically built into the schedule. 91Ô´´IPS is FREE to participants of any age or experience level! ​
Master Players Concert Series
Master Players Concert Series serves as the cultural ambassador for the 91Ô´´. Producing Artistic Director Xiang Gao, international artist and 91Ô´´ Trustees Distinguished Professor of Music, brings a rich and wide array of world-class musicians to the 91Ô´´ campus and to underserved local communities.
Schola Cantorum
Schola Cantorum is the Symphonic Choir at the 91Ô´´ that is open to students, faculty, staff and community members who love to sing!Â
