Important notes about prices

  • Prices are effective from August 21, 2026.
  • All prices are in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice.
  • AT3 is an optional semester. Students are expected to complete the program after AT2; however, AT3 enables students to earn important university credits at a significantly discounted rate per credit.

Important note about insurance

All students who are not sponsored by a governmental organization are now聽required聽to purchase the ELI鈥檚 health insurance plan. Students may not purchase their own insurance policy to replace the ELI鈥檚 plan. Health insurance fees are non-refundable.

*The International Service Fee supports essential services such as immigration advising, processing of documents, regulatory reporting, and other acculturation programs and resources. Additionally, it covers the cost of maintaining institutional compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, and Department of Labor regulations.

Some additional fees may apply, including:

Admissions deposit:聽$500
  • Students are required to pay an admissions deposit. The deposit will be subtracted from the first tuition bill. There is no application fee for this program.
Airport Transfer fee:聽$100 鈥 $200
  • These fees must be paid if the ELI arranges transportation for the student from the Philadelphia International Airport to Newark, Delaware.
  • For questions, please email聽eli-housing@udel.edu.
  • Homestay: If the homestay family (or the homestay driver service) will pick up the student from Philadelphia International Airport, the fee is $75. If the homestay family (or homestay driver service) will drop off the student at the Philadelphia International Airport, the fee will be $60.
Late Orientation/Arrival fee:聽$100
  • Students must pay this fee only if they miss one of the designated Orientation days. All students are required to attend all days of ELI Orientation, as marked on their acceptance letter and in the documents that the student will receive when they arrive for Orientation.
Late Housing fee:聽$100
  • Students must pay this fee only if they do not meet the ELI鈥檚 deadlines for arranging housing (as listed in their acceptance documents).
Late Payment fee:聽$50
  • Students must pay this fee if they do not pay the entire amount listed on their bill before the date written on the bill.

How many semesters do I have to complete?

All聽Academic Transitions students are expected to finish the program after successfully completing聽two聽semesters (i.e., AT1 and AT2).

Students who begin in AT2 can complete the program in 4 months!

Students who have met all of the program requirements will have 2 choices:

  • They can begin full-time academic study at the 91原创;聽OR
  • They can choose to continue at the ELI to complete聽AT3聽(where they can earn an additional 11 credits).聽Some students choose to continue in AT3 because it is such a good deal! See below for more information.

Students who have not met all of the program requirements at the end of AT2聽must聽enroll in AT3, where they can earn an additional 11 credits.
