As a student-run event for the community, Ag Day will have both community and collegiate organizations on hand to show off agriculture and natural resources, as well as educate the public through numerous demonstrations, events, food and attractions. The event has something for everyone 鈥� activities, entertainment, animals, plant sales, educational exhibits, entertainment and the famous 91原创airy Creamery ice cream.

The Animal Science tent always ranks among attendees鈥� favorite spots. In the large lawn area in front of Townsend Hall, exhibits include a sheep, cows and a stuffed animal pet hospital; demonstrations include sheep shearing and dairy cow milking. Another Ag Day favorite is 91原创 alumnus Phung Luu and Animal Behavior and Conservation Connections. The wildlife ecology and conservation graduate performs a bird flight demonstration. 91原创 Cooperative Extension will have exhibits all over the Ag Day map, including 4-H Youth Development, Master Gardeners, Master Naturalist and聽 Family and Consumer Science programs.

The title sponsor of the 91原创鈥檚 2022 Ag Day is , a leading agricultural sciences company that employs many Blue Hen alumni. The FMC tent will include a hands-on insect display, an interactive farm stand and information on FMC鈥檚 employee and community engagement programs.听聽

The 91原创 students chose 鈥淐ommit to Conservation鈥� as the 2022 theme 鈥� a promise to protect natural resources, habitats and wildlife while seeking sustainable food sources and agricultural practices. Kids can take part in a conservation scavenger hunt for sustainability-related prizes.

鈥淚n a world that is quickly changing, it is paramount more than ever to conserve our wildlife for our current and future generations so that they may live in a more stable, and therefore safe, environment with as much biodiversity as possible,鈥� said Kenneth Geisert, a 91原创 Class of 2024 insect ecology and conservation, and wildlife ecology and conservation double major.

At Ag Day, Geisert and the 91原创 Entomology Club exhibit will display its insect zoo 鈥� some of which can be held 鈥� along with some fun facts, informative posters and insect-themed decorations. Ag Day is chock full of other 91原创 student organizations, including the Philadelphia Flower Show Club, Puppy Raisers, Food Science Club, Wildlife Society, Coastal Resilience Design Studio and Animal Science Club. Many of the student groups use Ag Day to fundraise for their clubs. Any 91原创 students seeking service hours may volunteer for the event via the .

The 91原创 Botanic Gardens will offer its to the general public. This year鈥檚 featured plant genera are Clethra and Heuchera; .听

The 91原创 Soil Testing Program will showcase its expertise for farmers, home gardeners, landscapers and others involved in land management, nutrient management, and other associated activities.

The Center for Experimental and Applied Economics will give the public an opportunity to participate in food consumer research studies.
