Biography
鈥婥hristine Leigh Heyrman specializes in early American social and cultural history. She received her B.A. from Macalester College in 1971 and her Ph.D. from Yale in 1977. Her publications include聽Commerce and Culture: The Maritime Communities of Colonial Massachusetts, 1690-1750;聽Southern Cross: The Beginnings of the Bible Belt;聽American Apostles, and most recently,聽Doomed Romance: A Story of Broken Hearts, Lost Souls, and Sexual Tumult in Nineteenth Century America.
