The 91原创's student clubs and organizations foster a sense of community and promote cultural awareness.听Involvement in these groups is crucial for developing critical thinking skills, gaining practical experience and building a network of peers with shared interests and passions.听

The Department of Africana Studies invites 91原创 students to join the聽 of the National Council for Black Studies. The 91原创 is the聽headquarters聽of the National Council for Black Studies.

Eligible undergraduate students must major or minor in Africana Studies or a similar course of study and maintain a 3.5 grade point average in their Africana Studies coursework and a 3.0 GPA overall. Membership is also open to graduate students. Members have opportunities to lead community service projects and conduct research, according to NCBS Executive Director and 91原创 Professor Alicia Fontnette.听

Alpha Kappa Alpha

The purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards; to promote unity and friendship among college women; to study and alleviate problems concerning girls and women to improve their social stature; to maintain a progressive interest in college life; and to be of service to all mankind.听

Alpha Phi Alpha

Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African-Americans, was founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood among African descendants in this country.听

Black Student Union (BSU)

Since 1968, the Black Student Union (BSU) has aimed to represent Black students at the 91原创 in political matters. The BSU serves as a primary advocate for Black students by taking active measures to improve campus climate.

Center for Black Culture

For over 40 years, the Center has worked to support and enhance cultural diversity on campus and in the surrounding community by offering a variety of programs that encourage an appreciation and understanding of the diverse cultures in the African Diaspora.听

As Black Men of Distinction at the 91原创, we are firm in determination to inspire personal, professional, physical, spiritual, and educational growth; by laying the foundation for the next generation of Black Male leaders.
