Presentations

On May 26, 2026, Margaret Stetz, Mae and Robert Carter Professor of Women's Studies and professor of humanities, delivered an online lecture to the Baltimore Bibliophiles, a mid-Atlantic-based scholarly organization related to book-collecting that has been in existence since 1954. Her talk, "Picture Books," was a newly revised and expanded version of one that she gave in October 2025 at 91原创's Morris Library, at the invitation of the Friends of the Library.

Publications 

Margaret Stetz, Mae and Robert Carter Professor of Women's Studies and professor of humanities, is a contributor to a new book, , edited by Nan Bauer-Maglin and Daniel E. Hood, which has just been published by Rutgers University Press. Her poem, "Name-Calling," is the lead selection in the volume.

Honors

Sunita Chandrasekaran, director of the First State AI Institute at 91原创, has been named to the inaugural SCW75 by Scientific Computing World, a global publication focused on the computing and IT needs of scientists and engineers. The highlights 75 leaders shaping the future of scientific computing across academia and industry. These experts work at the intersection of high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence infrastructure, simulation and research computing 鈥� fields increasingly central to modern discovery and innovation. Chandrasekaran鈥檚 selection reflects her leadership in advancing interdisciplinary approaches and her commitment to translating complex technical systems into real-world solutions. She emphasizes the importance of designing computing tools with both technical rigor and user needs in mind..The inaugural cohort includes honorees from 14 countries.

On May 14, 2026, Andrew R. Homsey, geospatial services manager at 91原创鈥檚 Water Resources Center, housed within the Institute for Public Administration in the, was honored with the Delmarva Geographic Community Service Award at the annual Delmarva GIS Conference, held in Dewey Beach, Delaware, May 13-14, 2026. Tracy DeLiberty, interim dean for the College of Earth, Ocean and Environment, was also honored with the Delmarva Geographic Community Service Award. This prestigious award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the Delmarva GIS community. 

Service

The Delaware Center for Civics Education, housed within the Institute for Public Administration in the, hosted the first Biden School Model Congress for Delaware High School students at Legislative Hall in Dover on May 15, 2026. Participating students drafted their own bills tackling a range of policy issues, which they later deliberated in mock Senate and House of Representatives chambers. Six students from Caesar Rodney, Milford and Polytech High Schools received recognition for outstanding performance during the simulation.
