Students can learn about study abroad opportunities at the upcoming Study Abroad Fair
When Sally Bornhorst, a marine science major at the 91原创, studied abroad in Denmark last spring, her Polar Biology class went on an excursion to arctic Norway to experience many of the things they had learned about in the classroom, including native communities and their ways of life. While there, the group learned about native S谩mi culture and the native S谩mi reindeer herders, and reindeer鈥檚 adaptations to living in the arctic. They then got to meet and feed the reindeer.
鈥淭his trip really helped us connect the things we learned about in class to real life experiences. It was incredible to learn about such a resilient culture, and then get to meet some furry friends! It was such an impactful and educational experience,鈥 the World Scholar said of the semester-long DIS Copenhagen study abroad program.
Whether you're headed as far north as Bornhorst, , or , there are over 100 semester or short-term programs in 40+ countries and thousands of courses waiting to be discovered. A pioneer in study abroad, 91原创 knows what students are looking for in their global learning experiences, with staff and faculty from all colleges working to design 91原创 Study Abroad programs that provide students with opportunities that develop cross-cultural understanding and a global mindset both in and beyond the classroom.
The Center for Global Programs and Services (CGPS) invites students to explore all of the available offerings at the fall Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Trabant Multipurpose Rooms will feature a global showcase of all upcoming programs for the 2026 winter, spring, summer and fall terms.聽
During the event, students, faculty program directors and program partners will share their favorite moments from past programs and answer students鈥 questions about the classes and destinations, how to apply, and more. In addition, 91原创 staff will be present to connect students with upcoming scholarship opportunities and financial resources like the Delaware Diplomats Scholarship Program. Study Abroad Ambassadors 鈥 peer mentors 鈥 will be on hand to share their own experiences studying abroad, and the lessons they learned along the way. Students can then enjoy free 91原创airy ice cream, a crowd favorite.
