Biography

Basia Moltchanov is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Pedagogy in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the 91原创. Her teaching portfolio spans introductory and intermediate Spanish language courses, as well as specialized topics such as language teaching methods, syllabus design, materials development, and the capstone course for world languages education. Since 2010, she has directed numerous study abroad programs in Argentina, Costa Rica, and Spain.

A key component of her professional work involves fostering collaborative professional development for K-12 and university-level language educators. Her research focuses on enhancing support for K-16 language teachers, addressing student recruitment, and retention in world language education. Recently, she has led several funded study abroad programs to C谩ceres, Spain, and spearheaded the development of a graduate certificate program for Spanish language teachers.

In addition to her academic work, she actively contributes to the broader educational community, serving as a board member of the Delaware World Language Teacher Leader Network, and as the Delaware State Representative for the National Network for Early Language Learning.
