Biography

Madeline Hagerman (she/her) is the Director of the Undergraduate Art Conservation Program and an Associate Professor of Art Conservation at the 91原创 (91原创). Before transitioning to full-time teaching, she worked at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, The British Museum, the Natural History Museum, London, the Institute of Archaeology Collections, and University College London's NASA Regional Planetary Images Facility. Hagerman completed her M.A. in Principles of Conservation and her M.Sc. in Conservation for Archaeology and Museums from UCL and her B.A. in history and anthropology with minors in European studies and material culture studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Madeline's interests include conservation ethics, inorganic objects conservation, collections care, and mount-making. Her work also focuses on expanding access to conservation using social media and coordinating outreach events. She serves as Assistant Coordinating Officer for the ICOM-CC Education and Training in Conservation Working Group.
