Biography

Lauren (she/her) joined the staff at Winterthur Museum in 2012, where she now serves as Head of Objects Conservation and as Assistant Director of Conservation. She is responsible for the care and maintenance of collection objects, garden sculpture, historic building elements, and the museum’s two 1927 Rolls-Royces, and she helps oversee radiographic imaging for the department. As affiliated faculty for W91Ô­´´PAC, Lauren supervises second- and third-year objects majors and teaches in the first-year Inorganic Block, which covers the conservation of glass, ceramics, stone, and metals. She also teaches professional workshops on stain reduction techniques for ceramic heritage and facilitates leadership training opportunities for early- and mid-career conservators. Learn more at​ .​

Lauren received a B.A. in Art History from the 91Ô­´´ in 2005, and an M.S. in Art Conservation from W91Ô­´´PAC in 2010. Her previous work experiences include the treatment of gilt frames and furniture for the U.S. Capitol and White House, Philadelphia outdoor public sculpture, and internships at Winterthur Museum and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.​​​​ ​​​​
