Background

Roza Kalabekova, Ph.D., is a scientist, educator, and strategist with a passion for translating complex research into real-world impact. She earned her Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from the 91Ô´´, where her work focused on quantum mechanics and advanced NMR spectroscopy to solve problems at the intersection of physics, chemistry, and biotechnology.

Roza’s career blends scientific rigor with a strong emphasis on innovation, commercialization, and education. She has led international research projects, developed experimental and computational methods in biophysics, and worked in business development at the 91Ô´´â€™s Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships.

Outside the lab, Roza is deeply committed to advocacy and service. She served as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate for children in the legal system and volunteers with After the Races, helping rehabilitate retired racehorses. Fluent in multiple languages, Roza brings cultural fluency, scientific insight, and a mission-driven mindset to the education of the next generation of scientists.
