Where I Am Now

I am currently a student in the ELI.

Where I Am Going

I will pursue a Ph.D. in the United States.

How has ELI helped you improve your English?
ELI provides a lot of practice for listening and speaking. Also, we met both native English speakers and people from various countries.

How has the ELI made you feel welcomed and safe?
The ELI made me feel welcomed and safe by creating a supportive, respectful environment. I am not afraid of making mistakes.

What is your favorite memory from your time spent at the ELI so far?
My favorite memory at the ELI was my first day in class. I felt a little nervous at first, but everyone was very friendly and kind. We talked and did simple activities together. It helped me feel more comfortable and confident.

What challenges did you overcome at the ELI?
I have improved my listening skills at the ELI. At first, it was hard for me to understand fast speech, but over time I got used to it. With practice and help from my teachers, I can understand more now. This makes me feel more confident in class.

My advice for future students is to stay active and participate in every class. Even if you feel shy, try to speak and ask questions. This will help you learn faster. Also, make friends and practice English outside the classroom.
