Where I Am From

Antalya, Turkiye

Where I Am Now

I am a mathematics teacher, and I am currently Studying Gifted Education

Where I Am Going

I will continue my master鈥檚 in learning design and technology. Thanks to this program, I believe that I鈥檝e become more confident in discussing the topic of education.

How has ELI helped you improve your English?

Actually, this is my first week in ELI. But I can already say that I can speak more fluently compared to last week. In addition, I have learned that although I got a 6.5 in the IELTS exam it is not enough to give presentations, discuss, and write academic paragraphs; therefore, I have decided to study a lot.

How has the ELI made you feel welcomed and safe?聽

Although it was my first week at the ELI, almost everyone was welcoming. I can share my stress with my teachers, and they give lots of advice and support me again and again. In addition, I can find all types of support from the ELI team from health to accommodations. Thanks to the host program, I do not feel alone. Some trips or events also make me feel comfortable.

What is your favorite memory from your time spent at the ELI so far?

It is a hard question for me because there were many things. But I think the Washington D.C. trip has always been my favorite one.

Nur Sima Ovali Ozturk and peers

First of all, the ELI is amazing. I suggest you attend more trips or dinner events because spending time with native speakers and sharing the same moments are much more important than lessons, in my opinion.
