In theÌý,Ìýmy research groupÌýworksÌýon a wide range of specialtyÌýcrops in soilless cultureÌý(e.g., hydroponics), including leafy greens, culinary herbs, microgreens,ÌýsmallÌýfruiting crops, and floriculture crops. OurÌýenvironmental plant physiology researchÌýaims toÌýimprove efficiency and value of specialty crop production in controlled environments, includingÌýindoor facilities and greenhouses.ÌýMyÌýresearch program focuses onÌýthe optimization of environmental factorsÌý(e.g., light,Ìýcarbon dioxide, andÌýtemperature)Ìýand root-zone factors (e.g.,ÌýnutrientÌýsolutionÌýconcentration and composition) relevant to plantÌýphotosynthesis,Ìýmorphology, phytochemical production,Ìýand quality traits.ÌýMy horticultural lighting researchÌýuses color-tunableÌýlight-emitting diode (LED)Ìýfixtures for indoor studies and dimmable LEDÌýÌýfor greenhouse studies.ÌýStrategic delivery of energy, water, and nutrients based on plant responses can increase resource use efficiency.
