The program provides highly motivated undergraduates the opportunity to immerse themselves in a community-based research or creative project under the direction of a faculty mentor. Scholars spend 10 weeks during the summer in full-time pursuit of their projects in partnership with a Delaware nonprofit, governmental, community-based action research or service-based corporate activity and simultaneously pursue academic reflection under the guidance of a 91原创 faculty mentor.

In a partnership with five state institutions, including 91原创, Christiana Care and Nemours Children鈥檚 Hospital, selected undergraduate students will carry out independent research projects while supported full-time under a mentor to gain knowledge of research techniques and make unique scholarly or original impacts on the biomedical sciences.

A unique, hands-on, 10-week summer experiential learning environment under the guidance of extension agents or specialists. During this summer internship, students will follow Cooperative Extension's service learning model, implemented through one of Extension's four program areas: 4-H youth development, family and consumer sciences, lawn and garden and agriculture and natural resources. Summer scholar experiential learning may include designing and delivering educational programs, evaluating program impacts in the community, assisting with communications and more.

Undergraduate students pursuing a material culture-based internship with preference given to students whose focus is on preservation, conservation, administration, collections management, exhibition, research and services of museums.

Horn Entrepreneurship combines a personalized approach with lessons from successful entrepreneurs and evidence-based best practices. Programs and opportunities are relevant, accessible and available to all students. The Horn educational experience combines hands-on, project-based learning with real-world challenges and extensive external engagement. The result is a special program that prepares students to adapt, thrive and lead in entrepreneurial roles with established companies, social ventures and startups.

The experience offers a valuable opportunity to observe and contribute to political decision-making. Fellows assist state legislators听in addressing critical public policy issues through nonpartisan, in-depth research.

Qualifications: Junior- and senior-level undergraduates with a minimum 3.4 GPA

The Institute for Public Administration (IPA), in partnership with the 91原创 Government Relations Office, provides a student learning opportunity for an Undergraduate Legislative Researcher to work closely with the director and office staff to provide direct, nonpartisan legislative monitoring and research assistance.

IPA鈥檚 Public Administration Fellows work closely with faculty or professional staff members on complex public policy research and public service projects for state, county and local governments and nonprofit organizations. Research areas include civic education and engagement, conflict resolution, economic development, education policy, healthcare policy, land-use planning, transportation, infrastructure, and water resources.

Qualifications: Open to all undergraduates with a minimum 3.4 GPA

LP3 supports 91原创 students who wish to pursue a career in law. It prepares students for law school and careers in related fields by creating a network of resources built through the University's students and alumni. LP3 allows students to attend networking events and workshops and receive mentoring, scholarships and more. LP3 is committed to supplying 91原创 students with the tools and guidance necessary to pursue a career in law or related fields successfully.

The Lerner Career Services team helps Lerner College students with advising and connects them with leading executives and HR recruiters through networking events, internship and job postings, site visits, alumni panels, bus treks, on-campus interviews and more.

The year-long program supports academically talented low-income, first-generation and underrepresented students toward pursuing advanced graduate degree through mentoring, simulated graduate school experiences and a 10-week summer research program.

Qualifications: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, completion of 60 college credits by May 31, minimum GPA of 2.75 (sophomore), 3.0 (junior), first-generation college student AND defined as low-income by the U.S. Dept. of Education, OR of a background underrepresented in graduate education.

Fellowships help students and alumni develop as scholars and global citizens through study abroad, research, service, internships or graduate study. There are scholarship and fellowship opportunities for every major and career goal. 91原创 provides information, advice and application support to highly motivated students applying for national and international fellowships and scholarships.

Funding for undergraduates pursuing self-designed, off-campus learning experiences that create a difference in their lives and the lives of others.

Eligibility: Undergraduate students who, at the time of application, are enrolled for at least 12 semester hours and have completed five semesters at most

A collaboration between the Undergraduate Research Program (URP), Student Financial Services and faculty mentors allows eligible, early-career students to use federal work-study funds to gain research experiences at the 91原创.

Qualifications: Work-study eligible undergraduates

Pay: $13.25/hour in fall 2024 and $15/hour in spring 2025

Research experiences with faculty mentors give talented undergraduates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related majors a chance to see and take part in what is happening on the front lines of discovery.

Undergraduate students who submit a complete 91原创 Study Abroad application will be automatically considered for financial need-based awards.

Grant Amount: 50鈥�75 percent of the study abroad program fee and may only be used towards the final balance of the program fee.

The program is ideal for those who wish to undertake a smaller-scale research project, who have been working on projects during the academic year and would like to continue research in the summer, or who wish to begin projects that will continue during the next academic year.

Conduct in-depth research or creative work with University faculty. Applicants must propose a research project of their own making. Students selected for the Summer Scholars Program work on their projects full-time for 10 weeks.

Students conduct research with faculty and staff in one of the Biden School of Public Policy & Administration affiliated research centers鈥攖he Institute for Public Administration or the Center for Community Research and Service鈥攐n public policy issues such as community revitalization, economic development, education policy, health policy, housing and homelessness, land-use planning and more. The program runs for ten weeks for a total of 300 hours.

Pay: Fellows take a required UAPP or UNIV course and receive a $4,500 fellowship

Undergraduates who have accepted unpaid or underpaid internships, field experiences, job shadowing, research with organizations outside of 91原创 or professional conferences where a financial barrier could impact their participation.

The Internship & Professional Experiences grant program can supplement other grants if those awards only partially cover students鈥� expected expenses.

Funding for undergraduate legacy students seeking to participate in opportunities outside of the traditional classroom where the student may otherwise be unable to participate. These opportunities may include, but are not limited to, academic competitions, research or program-related presentations, leadership conferences, research, internships, service-learning (such as 91原创AB) or other educational endeavors.

Eligibility: A "legacy" student (i.e., a student with a verifiable parent or step-parent who is a 91原创 graduate)

91原创 offers a variety of on campus-jobs that are based in service, research and academia with offices and departments across the University. Students are able to earn income, help to develop professional competencies and provide mentorship.

Choose from semester-long programs in the fall and spring, and shorter programs during Winter and Summer Sessions. While abroad, you鈥檒l take a full load of academic credits, choose to engage in internships or community service, and sharpen your language and intercultural skills. Undergraduate students who submit a complete 91原创 Study Abroad application will be automatically considered for financial need-based awards to help finance your study abroad experience.

DWRC internships provide a unique opportunity for undergraduate students, faculty and scientists to be directly involved in research and education that address the critical water resources issues of the day in Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic region. Students must establish a water research topic and project with the support of a faculty or scientist advisor.
