Investigate the brain鈥攆rom cells to behavior

As a neuroscience major at the 91原创, you will investigate how the brain and nervous system shape learning, behavior and health. The interdisciplinary STEM curriculum draws from biology, psychology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and engineering, with topics ranging from neuroanatomy and brain development to neuropharmacology and neurological disorders.

Within the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, students benefit from faculty and peer mentoring, undergraduate research, study abroad and individualized field placement and internship opportunities. You may join a faculty lab, earn academic credit for research or continue into advanced research and a senior thesis.

Neuroscience students learn within the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, whose undergraduate psychology program ranks in the top 12% nationally according to U.S. News & World Report. Through the department鈥檚 relationship with the Center for Biomedical and Brain Imaging, students working in participating research labs may access advanced imaging resources, including Delaware鈥檚 first research-dedicated fMRI scanner.

Eligible students can earn a bachelor of science and a master of science in neuroscience through 91原创鈥檚 accelerated 4+1 program. Students can also pursue scholarship, service and professional development through Nu Rho Psi, the national neuroscience honor society.
