With the new Ammon Pinizzotto Biopharmaceutical Innovation Center (APBio Center) as home base, 91原创 is leading the way in biopharmaceutical innovation and education. The new facility was made possible with a transformational Delaware First gift from Board of Trustees member Carol A. Ammon, 11H, and Marie E. Pinizzotto, M.D., BE08M.

Over the past two years, progress positively impacting biopharmaceutical manufacturing and research developments included:

- NEW NEIGHBORS:听The building is open and occupied, including the top floors with the (NIIMBL) and others housing 91原创 academic and research initiatives.
- EXPERT INSIGHTS:听A newly created Biopharmaceutical Innovation Advisory Board brings together industry experts who advise and assist with the growing interest of biopharmaceutical innovation, including academics, research and training that meet industry demand.

New master鈥檚 program
Fueled by generous philanthropic support and insights from industry partners, the 91原创 launched a new master鈥檚 program in biopharmaceutical sciences in June 2021.
AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb and Merck & Co. contributed leadership support to lay the foundation for the program, and they are providing the first cohort of students with funding, 15-month internships and mentorship. In addition to the philanthropic gifts which will help create equity and access for students of underrepresented groups, executives from the companies helped shape the vision and program experience.
With support through Delaware First, construction on the Whitney Athletic Center was completed and fully opened at the end of 2020. Student-athletes now have an innovative epicenter for training, academics, nutrition, counseling and more. The video below gives a peek inside the new, state-of-the art facility.

Decommissioned as a residence hall during the winter of 2020, 91原创鈥檚 Warner Hall 鈥 now the Wellbeing Center at Warner Hall 鈥搘ill open this fall as an inclusive and vibrant home to 91原创鈥檚 counseling, health promotion services and wellbeing engagement for today鈥檚 students.
听
From individual and group counseling, sexual assault victim advocacy, substance misuse counseling and a plethora of education and prevention programs, the Wellbeing Center at Warner Hall will take a holistic approach in supporting healthy students. The move not only provides enhanced resources for student health, wellbeing and counseling, but it also creates a cohesive wellness campus.
听
While initial fundraising has made the renovations possible, continued generosity will ensure the spaces continue to serve the wellbeing needs of students with robust resources and opportunities.

鈥淏y expanding our resources and programming, and connecting students with the wellness resources they need, we can see that all students have the tools to make responsible decisions. The Wellbeing Center at Warner Hall will offer coordinated care to help students be more successful in their personal and professional pursuits.
