IPA Interim Director Leads 2026 Freight Summit

On Tuesday, June 16, the annual Delmarva Freight Summit took place in Newark, Delaware, presented by the Delmarva Freight Working Group, which includes the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), Salisbury/Wicomico MPO, 91原创鈥檚聽聽(IPA), and WILMAPCO.聽Troy Mix, acting director of IPA, hosted and helped to coordinate the gathering.聽
Gena Eleias, planner, DelDOT, presented on Highlights of the Updated Delaware Freight Plan. Joshua Bartzen, director of Retail & Infrastructure at the USPS Office of Inspector General, discussed USPS Fleet Modernization. Cathy Roberson of Logistics Trends & Insights LLC led a presentation titled "Five Forward-Looking Freight Trends."聽
The summit concluded with a panel discussion on Regional Freight Planning Trends and Priorities led by Dan Blevins, principal planner, WILMAPCO; Dan Farina, senior freight transportation planner, DVRPC; L鈥橩iesha Markley, freight planning manager, MDOT State Highway Administration; and Chad Reese, associate, Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP.
